Ribadeo is the gate to Galicia's Northern Way, a way of trade, culture and pilgrimage leading to Santiago through the North.

The road, spanning 16 km, starts in the town of Ribadeo and ascends from Porcillán harbour to Praza de España. This was the dock where pilgrims disembarked from the boats that crossed the estuary.

From there, it continues down calle San Francisco towards San Lázaro chapel and then on to Ove. In this parish, the road ascends past Pastoriza to Vilela, then across the river Pequeno into Covelas. The road then descends to Ponte, in Arante. In here, the pilgrim may pay a visit to the Santuario de Nuestra Señora de las Virtudes church. After this point, the road continues through the municipality of Barreiros.

The municipality of Ribadeo has  2 hostels.
