5. Calle de Rodríguez Murias
This street is not only home to some of the most representative Indiano architecture, but also a symbol of the town's prosperity and growth. The street was so named as an homage to one of the most influential Indianos: Jesús Rodríguez Murias, born in the fishing village of Rinlo.
When he passed away in 1909, he bequeathed a large capital to the parish and the capital town so that it would be used for the benefit of the community and for fostering culture. This enabled the construction of a conveyance system for drinking water and the school in Rinlo.
Today, Calle Rodríguez Murias, part of a block known as Las Cuatro Calles, is now a busy commercial area.
